Virginia Asian Chamber of Commerce Applauds President Barack Obama’s Nomination of Jennifer Choe Groves to the U.S. Court of International Trade

Ashland, VA, USA. – Today, the Virginia Asian Chamber of Commerce (VACC) commends U.S President Barack Obama’s nomination of Ms Jennifer Choe Groves to the U.S. Court of International Trade.

The U.S. Court of International Trade has nationwide jurisdiction over all civil actions arising out of U.S. customs and international trade laws.

“VACC applauds President Obama for his concrete action to bring diversity to the national judiciary system expressed by the latest presidential nomination,” said VACC Chairman Tinh D. Phan. “As leader in addressing business issues confronting Asian Pacific American businesses in the Commonwealth Virginia-DC Metro Area and in several other Southern States, we are encouraged to see an Asian American, if confirmed, to be the first Asian Pacific American judge to serve on this prestigious court,”  he added.

Ms. Groves is the CEO of Titanium Law Group PLLC and Choe Groves Consulting LLC. She was a partner at the law firms of Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott LLC, and Hughes Hubbard and Reed LLP. She was Senior Director of Intellectual Property and Innovation at the Office of the United States Trade Representative, in the Executive Office of the United States President.

Through statewide events and activities and advocacy work, VACC advocates for equal opportunity in the business economic and procurement place, works to eliminate crimes against Asian Americans and their workplaces, and promotes the business growth of our membership in the minority and other under-served communities.

VACC’s Sister Agency, the Virginia Asian Foundation (VAF), is a C3 non – profit dedicated to promote business and cultural education, to increase the quality of life of Asian Americans, and to help enhance international cooperation, cultural understanding, and trade and investment between the citizens and businesses of the 37 countries of Asia and the Commonwealth’s businesses and communities.

Both the VACC and VAF ‘s programming are supported by a diverse membership of Virginian-Other American-Asian – owned companies in the U.S, educational institutions, business and trade associations, and professionals.
